Well, I am pissy at the government!
They have decided to pass a law that requires all businesses to test all clothing and products for under the age of twelve for toxic lead and phthalates. Sounds good right? Well, put it this way, imagine all the thrift stores around the world, having to test every single product that comes in. It is not cheap testing either! Also any untested products are deemed hazardous and must be sent to a landfill. When I worked for GoodWill, I alone in a 4 to 6 hour shift would easily put out over 2,000 pieces of clothes and tons of toys, and at least a third of those were children's! Most small businesses will be put out of business, because they can't afford the testing, and other larger companies that sell second hand will have to raise prices. So were low income families would usually buy their children's clothing those resources will be gone!
So, here are some articles you can check out about this!
